Hill Voice, December 1, 2022, Rangamati: An allegation of beating 6 Jumma motorcycle drivers by DGFI member Mohammad Sakhawat for no reason was received in Bilaichari Upazila Sadar Bazaar of Rangamati district.
The victims of beating are – 1. Swadhin Chakma, s/o Jogar Chakma, Village- Dighalchari, 2. Adar Babu Chakma, s/o Balukke Chakma, village- Deba Madha, 3. Priya Chakma, s/o Kamini Ranjan Chakma, Village- Dhappechar, 4. Prashanta Chakma, s/o Unknown, Village- Dhappechar, 5. Kanchan Tanchangya, s/o Baban Tanchangya, Village- Dighalchari, 6. Nohel Chakma, s/o Marach Chakma, village- Dhappechar. All of them are motor cycle drivers.
According to local sources, yesterday Thursday (November 30) at approximately 5:00 pm, the victims of the beating were waiting for passenger at Bilaichari Sadar Bazaar and were talking about various issues while sitting on the motorcycle.
At that time DGFI member Mohammad Sakhawat punched on them without any word and started beating them severely.
When asked why they were being beaten, they continued to beat them without giving any answer. They don’t even know why they were beaten.
