Jumma woman attempted to rape by a Bengali settler in Rangamati-Sajek, accused arrested

Hill Voice, 7 September 2020, Rangamati: A 26-year-old Jumma housewife was allegedly attempted to rape by a Bengali settler named Md. Solaiman in Machalang Bazar area of ​​Sajek Union in Baghaichhari upazila of Rangamati district.

However, it is learned that the locals detained Md. Solaiman at red handed and handed him over to the police.

The incident took place on September 5, 2020, around 8:30 am.

It is learned that the victim at that time went to bring bottle-gourd from the farm nearby the house. At that time, Solaiman, the settler, finding the woman alone, grabbed her from behind and tried to rape her. At that moment, when the woman shouted, the people around her ran to rescue her and detained Solaiman. Later, the people handed over Solaiman to the police at Sajek police station.

It is learned that Solaiman, who tried to rape her, is a carpenter. His home is in Langadu upazila of Rangamati district.

On September 6, 2020, the victim herself filed a case with the Sajek Police Station under the Women and Child Abuse Act. Police later, showing arrested, sent Solaiman, the alleged rapist in the case, to jail.
