Hill Voice, 14 November 2023, Rangamati: A youth named Shantimoy Chakma alias Shyamal reportedly detained by security forces from Rangamati Municipality area.
He was arrested from KK Roy Road in Rangamati Municipality area on Monday (November 13) evening.
It is learnt from reliable sources, arrested Shantimoy Chakma is from Sarwatali area in Baghaichari upazila under Rangamati hill district. He is a riotous person and involved in various crimes. He is seen in various places and is an intoxicated man.
Arrested Shantimoy Chakma is said to be an accomplice of UPDF’s arms collector, another unreliable source said.
But, some army patronized online news portals, based on security forces report, misinterpreted Shantimoy Chakma as the company commander of Parbatya Chattagram Jana Samhati Samiti’s armed group.
Sajib Chakma, Assistant Information and Publicity Secretary of PCJSS, however, denied the allegation and termed it as completely false and fabricated.
