A Jumma’s house surrounded, searched by the army in Raikhali

Hill Voice, 3 December 2023, Rangamati: A house of a Jumma villager in Raikhali Union of Kaptai Upazila under Rangamati district was allegedly surrounded and searched by the army, and all the belongings of the house were vandalized.

According to local sources, on Saturday evening (2nd December, 2023), at 6 pm, a group of army numbering 16/17 personnel led by Md. Abdul Quddus, camp commander of Narangiri No.1 Army Camp of 56 Bengal entered in Jaganachari of Ward No. 3 of Raikhali Union in Kaptai.

On reaching there, they surrounded the house of Aungprue Marma (43), son of late Monglaprue Marma and vandalized the valuables. During the raid, Aungprue Marma was not at home.

As the army did not find Aungprue Marma at home, they abused and threat the family members. Later, the army forcefully took photo of Aungprue Marma’s mother.

It is known that the family members and villagers are currently living in extreme fear following the incident.
