Hill Voice, 7 August 2026, Bandarban: The 12th Annual Branch Conference and Council of the Pahari Chatra Parishad (PCP) took place in Thanchi, Bandarban, centered around the theme, “Jumma student community, join in greater movement to implement the CHT Accord by resisting all forms of conspiracies.”

Organized by the Thanchi Upazila Branch, the event was held on Tuesday (August 4) at the Humanitarian Hall in Thanchi.

The conference was presided over by Thanchi Branch President Singwaimong Marma and moderated by Organizing Secretary Umonghla Marma. Office Secretary Oshaising Marma delivered the welcome speech.

Chasathowai Marma, President of the Parbatya Chattagram Jana Samhati Samiti (PCJSS) Thanchi Upazila Committee, attended as the chief guest. Special guest speeches were delivered by Rengyong Mro, Vice-President of the PCP Central Committee, and Edison Chakma, General Secretary of the PCP Bandarban District Branch.

During the council session of the conference, a new 21-member PCP Thanchi Upazila Branch committee was unanimously elected, with Singwaimong Marma as President, Umonghla Marma as General Secretary, and Kyasainu Marma as Organizing Secretary.

Antar Chakma, General Secretary of the PCP Central Committee, administered the oath of office to the newly elected committee members.
