Two innocent people shot dead by army-backed Reformists in Bandarban and Kaptai

Hill Voice, 11 October 2020, Bandarban: In two separate incidents, an army-backed Reformist armed terrorist shot dead a village doctor in Jamchhari area of ​​Baghmara union in Bandarban Sadar upazila and a motorcycle driver in Kaptai upazila of Rangamati district.

A village doctor shot dead in Bandarban

A village doctor in Jamchhari area of ​​Baghmara union in Bandarban Sadar upazila was taken out of a shop and shot dead by army-backed Reformists. The deceased was identified as Bachamong Marma (38), son of Choinyai Marma, a village doctor in Jamchhari Bazar.

According to local sources, on 10 October 2020 Friday, at around 6:30 pm Bachamong Marma was gossiping at a shop in Jamchhari Bazar of Sadar Upazila. At that time, a group of Reformist terrorists numbering 7-8 members took him out of the shop and shot him. He died on the spot.

Local sources further said that the killings may have been due to a land dispute. Because one of the families with whom the land dispute of Bachamong Marma is ongoing is actively working with the Reformist group. A villager, who did not want to be named, said Malek Bawm and Ubamong Marma, gang leaders of the Reformists in Bandarban, were helping him.

A motorcycle driver shot dead in Kaptai

It is learnt that on 11 October 2020 Saturday at 8:15 am, a motorcycle driver Durjoy Tanchangya was shot dead in broad daylight by army-backed Reformist group at Karigar Para Bazar in Kaptai Upazila.

According to local sources, Durjoy Tanchangya was shot dead by three Reformist terrorists, including Abu Karbari (Marma). Durjoy Tanchangya is the son of Saday Tanchangya of Bhalukya Madhyam Para of Chandraghona Police Station under Kaptai Upazila. He used to run a motorcycle for rent for earning.
