Hill Voice, 5 February 2022, Bandarban: It has been alleged that an innocent Jumma villager named Unuemong Marma (47) was killed in Nayapara area of Taracha union in Rowangchari upazila of Bandarban hill district by the army-backed Mog Party terrorists.
Before firing on Unuemong Marma, the terrorists reportedly searched for Mongsingnue Marma, a member of the Rowangchari Thana Committee of the Parbatya Chattagram Juba Samiti (Youth Association), at Barashila Para of Taracha union. However, realizing the danger, Mongsingnue Marma was able to escape elsewhere.
According to local sources, on March 5, 2022 at around 11:00 am an armed group of 12 terrorists of Mog Party raided to Naya Para and opened fire on Unuemong Marma. Unuemong Marma died on the spot. The terrorists then took Unuemong Marmar’s body away. At that time Unuemong Marma was sitting in front of a shop.
Unuemong Marma is not a member of any political party, but is said to be a supporter of the Chittagong Hill Tracts Accord. His home is in Talukdarpara (Ngakkoaiwa) village of Taracha union. He went to visit the nearby village Nayapara area at that time.
4 terrorists of Mog Party killed in opponent attack:
According to local sources, on February 5, at around 2:00 pm, a clash took place between the Mog Party and the rival group on the banks of the Sangu river at Phalangkshyong on the Rowangchari-Ruma border. It is learnt that 4 armed terrorists of Mog Party were killed on the spot.
At that time, after killing Unuemong, the Mog Party terrorists were going to Ruma by boat. In the meanwhile, after a failed attempt to capture Mongsingnue Marma at Barashila Para in Rowangchhari, the terrorists started moving towards Ruma. Sources said that the incident took place at that time.
