The members, including the general secretary of the Haripur-Kazipara Adivasi Samiti, have complained against Kalipada Pahari, president of the Haripur-Kazipara Adivasi Samiti, for embezzling various funds granted for the Adivasi Samiti.
The members including the general secretary of the Samiti have lodged a written complaint with the Upazila Nirbahi Officer seeking redressal. It is learnt that they also informed the Chatmohar Upazila Chairman about the matter.
According to the complaint, the President of this Adivasi Samiti, Kalipada Pahari, has embezzled the money of blankets and stipends given to the members of the Samiti and their children. Recently a house has been allotted in the name of the association.
President Kalipada Pahari misused his power without informing anyone and holding any meeting of the Samiti and allotted the house in his own name. The members of the Samiti have demanded a remedy for his corruption.
On the other hand, Sunil Chandra Das, President of the Chhota Shalikha-Kumargara Adivasi Samiti, has been accused of allocating a house in the name of Milon Chandra Das, son of Baidyanath Das of Chhota Shalika Mahalla, in exchange for a large sum of money.
Not only that, the members of the Samiti have complained to the Upazila Nirbahi Officer that Sunil Das has also embezzled the stipend money given in the name of the indigenous students.
Moreover, Sunil Chandra Das has collected Tk. 10,000 to Tk. 15,000 in the name of allotment of each house as he has been in touch with the office regarding allotment of houses and supply of building materials. Several members of the Samiti have complained that Jiban Chandra Das, son of Nani Gopal of Daspara village in Kubirdia, got the house in exchange for money.
