Hill Voice, 30 September 2020, Comilla: It is alleged that a Barua girl with a disability from the Buddhist community has been raped at Barura area in Comilla district.
It is learnt that accused Imam Hossain, son of Abdul Quader of Lagnasar village in Shilmuri Uttor Union of Barura Upazila entered the house and raped a poor motherless disabled Buddhist girl many times. When Imam Hossain was engaged in the same work on Saturday night the father of the victim sensed the matter and tried to catch him but he fled.
The father of the Buddhist disabled girl said that some people including Khalilur Rahman Munshi, Nayan, Abu Taher, Liton Barua and Ratan from the area came to my house around 11 pm on Sunday the day after the incident and settled the matter.
He added that at that time Khalilur Rahman Munshi took a signature from me on a blank stamp paper saying that they would pay me forty thousand taka but they did not pay. However, they took Taka 2 lakh from the rapist Imam Hossain for settlement.
A case was filed against the rapist Imam Hossain at Baruda police station around 11pm on Monday but the accused is still out of reach.
