A Jumma abducted by army-backed Reformists in Matiranga, ransom demanded

Hill Voice, 10 May 2020, Khagrachari:  A Jumma villager named Sudhir Tripura alias Kabli (45), son of Pura Joy Tripura was reported to have been abducted by army-backed Reformist terrorists from Matiranga bazaar of Khagrachari Hill District on day before yesterday.

The house of victim Sudhir Tripura alias Kabli is at village of Balyachari adjacent to No.1 Rubber Bagan of Guimara upazila (sub-district) under Khagrachari District.

According to local sources, on 8 May 2020, Friday, in the evening, members of armed group of Reformist Sulen Chakma and Mangal Tripura said Sudhir Tripura alias Kabli to meet with them over mobile phone. After that, while Sudhir Tripura went to meet with them at Matiranga Bazaar, then Reformist terrorists abducted him and took to an unknown place.

In the meantime, as there was no contact with Sudhir Tripura and for not coming back home in that night after being abducted, there has appeared concern among family members.

It is learnt that on 10 May 2020, Sunday, at around 10:00 am, Bikob Tripura alias Joy, a Reformist member ensured people of family of abducted Sudhir Tripura over phone that Sudhir Tripura is at their custody. Bikob Tripura put a demand of 5 lakh Taka as ransom of abducted Sudhir Tripura.

Till writing the report, abducted Sudhir Tripura has not been released yet.
