Rangamati’s girls acquires runners-up at the national level of cricket

Hill Voice, 20 March 2022, Special Correspondent: The girls of Jurachari Bhubanjoy Government High School in Rangamati have become runners-up in girl cricket at the national level in the 50th Winter National Sports Competition.

In the final match held at Dinajpur Stadium, Dhaka team became the champion by defeating Rangamati girls by only 1 run.

Prizes were distributed among the winners and runners-up at Dinajpur Stadium on Saturday (19 March) in the morning.

Meanwhile, the girls of Jurachari Bhubanjoy Government High School of Rangamati took part in the final stage as the team representing Bakul region after defeating the teams of Chittagong, Comilla and Sylhet divisions.

In the final match, the girl players of Rangamati defeated Chapa Region representing Rajshahi and Rangpur divisions, Golap Region representing Khulna and Barisal divisions and made hope to become champions.

In the final match, the girls of Rangamati lost to Padma Region (Abbas Ali Sarkar School and College, Gazipur) representing Dhaka and Mymensingh Division by 1 run.

In the final match, Padma Region batted first and scored 42 runs in 8 overs. In reply, Rangamati girls scored 41 runs in 8 overs. In the other two matches, Rangamati girls defeated Golap Region by 1 run.

In the final match, the girls of Rangamati lost to Padma Region (Abbas Ali Sarkar School and College, Gazipur) representing Dhaka and Mymensingh Division by 1 run.

In the final match, Padma Region batted first and scored 42 runs in 8 overs. In reply, Rangamati girls scored 41 runs in 8 overs. In the other two matches, Rangamati girls defeated Golap Region by 1 run.

Batting first, Rangamati girls scored 63 runs in 8 overs. In reply, Golap Region scored 62 runs in 8 overs. In another match, Rangamati girls defeated Chapa Region by 8 runs. In this match, Rangamati girls scored 55 runs in 8 overs. In reply, the Chapa Region was all out for 48 runs.

Bhubanjoy Government High School became the champion in girls kabaddi in the 49th Winter National Sports Competition last year. The school team secured runners-up in cricket this year.

The headmaster of Bhubanjoy Government High School is with the team. He told the media that the girls had hoped to become champions this time. But lost by 1 run. Today the girls will leave Dinajpur for Rangamati.
