Hill Voice, 7 May 2022, Rangamati: A person named Aungsinue Marma (32) has been arrested by the Bangalhalia army camp under Rajasthali Upazila of Rangamati District for refusing to go into operation with the army against the members of Parbatya Chattagram Jana Samhati Samiti (PCJSS).

Aungsinue, a resident of Kakrachari Para in No. 3Bangalhalia Union of Rajasthali Upazila, was arrested on Saturday (May 7).
He is known to be an active member of the Marma Liberation Party, also widely known as Mog Party.

According to local sources, Aungsinue Marma was summoned to Bangalhalia Camp under Kaptai Atal 56 Bengal in Rangamati district on May 5, 2022. At that time the Bangalhalia camp authorities ordered him to go into operation with the army against the members of PCJSS.

But he refused to go into operation. It is learnt that he had some argument with the army about this. After the altercation, the army instructed him to return to his home.

A day later, on May 7, the army arrested Aungsinue Marma from Bangalhalia Bazar area and claimed to have recovered 47 pieces of yaba from him.

Sources said that after joining the Mog Party, Aungsinue became involved in extortion, kidnapping, ransom, murder, yaba consumption and trade in the Bangalhalia area under the auspices of the army.

Officer-in-Charge (OC) Chandraghona Police Station Iqbal Bahar Chowdhury said a case has been filed against Aungsinue under the Narcotics Act. He was reportedly sent to Rangamati Court on Sunday (May 8) morning.

It is to be noted that the army, DGFI and local leadership of ruling Awami League have been harboring and patronizing armed terrorist groups such as the Mog Party, Reformist JSS (MN Larma), UPDF (Democratic), Kuki-Chin National Front known as Bawm Party etc. in order to thwart the implementation process of Chittagong Hill Tracts Accord and to mobilize these armed terrorists against the individuals and organizations who are vocal in demanding the implementation of the Accord including PCJSS,

Among them, the army and the ruling Awami League are carrying out anti-Accord and anti-Jumma interest activities with Mog Party by deploying its armed members in Powaitu Para of Gainda union of Rajasthali upazila and at rented houses in Bandarban town.
