Land of a Jumma villager occupied by Bengali settlers in Bhushanchhara

Hill Voice, 4 August 2020, Rangamati:  It has been alleged that a Bengali settler built a house by forcibly grabbing the land of a Jumma villager in Bhushanchhara of Barkal under Rangamati hill district today.
According to local sources, today (July 4, 2020) at around 7:00 am, a Bengali settler named Md. Sahidul, son of Md. Fazal Gazi of Kalabanya Setler area of Aimachhara Union of Barkal Upazila along with a group of Bengali settlers occupied land of Joy Kumar Chakma (53) son of late Dina Mohan and built a house on this occupied land.
It is known that Bengali settlers tried to grab land of Joy Kumar Chakma several times before.
Although the victim Joy Kumar Chakma sought legal help from the police, it is learnt that the police are playing a silent role.
