Jumma house searched and belongings vandalized by army in Jibtali

Hill Voice, 10 July 2022, Rangamati: It has been alleged that a house of a Jumma villager was searched and the belongings were vandalized by the army in Jibtali Union of Rangamati Sadar Upazila under Rangamati Hill District.

It has been known that the incident took place at around 5:00 pm on July 9, 2022.

According to local sources, yesterday at around 5:00 pm, a group of army numbering 12 led by Lt. Ferdous went on a patrol in Dhanpata and Prejucharamukh areas of Jibtali Union with two speedboats from the local Gabaghona army camp. At that time, the army personnel entered the house of a woman named Mimachi Marma and conducted a massive search and vandalized all the kooking pots and pans of the house.

Also, army personnel harassed Mimachi Marma by asking if there were any terrorists in the area, and threatened to kill all the members of her house if she did not inform the army whenever she saw the terrorists or terrorists came in the area. It is learnt that the army returned to the camp later in the evening.
