Hill Voice, 3 July 2022, Rangamati: The Parbatya Chattagram Jana Samhati Samiti (PCJSS) strongly protests and condemns the killing of three innocent Tripura villagers and injuring of 2 children in a gun attack by the influential interest group-backed Kuki-Chin National Front (KNF) terrorist group at Saizam Para in Barthali union of Bilaichari upazila in Rangamati district on 21 June 2022 and since that incident, the eviction of more than hundred families of Tanchangya and Tripura communities from dozen of villages under Barthali Union of Bilaichari and Alekshyong Union of Rowangchari Upazila of Bandarban.

In a press released signed by Assistant Information and Publicity Secretary of the PCJSS, Sajib Chakma, today, Sunday (July 3) the PCJSS has protested, condemned and demanded.

The press release said, since the killing at Saizam Para in Barthali, KNF terrorists have been threatening the villagers of Tanchangya and Tripura communities in the remote areas of Barthali and Alekshyang Union to leave the area at gunpoint. Otherwise, like the incident in Saizam Para, they threatened to shoot death and to burn the houses of the villages. In this context, the frightened people of Tanchangya and Tripura communities are being forced to leave the villages and take shelter elsewhere. Not only that, for the past few months, KNF terrorists have been forcibly looting essential daily food items from the villagers.

It is also mentioned that despite the KNF terrorist group has openly claimed responsibility for the killing of Saizam Para and subsequently has been evicting one village after another village of the Tanchangya and Tripura communities, no effective action has been taken by the government against the terrorists, which is very worrying and mysterious.

In this situation, the PCJSS demands to the government to take strict action against the terrorist KNF soon and to give exemplary punishment to the terrorists by arresting them under the law, to provide necessary security to the frightened Tanchangya and Tripura villagers and to rehabilitate them in their respective villages with proper compensation, and to ensure proper compensation to the families of those killed and injured in Saizam Para incident. The PCJSS also demands legal action against those who were involved in providing shelter to the armed terrorist group KNF after proper investigation.
