Hill Voice, 22 September 2019, Sunday, France:  A peaceful human chain has been organised by Bangladeshi France Buddhist communities at Republican place in Paris protesting against killing of an innocent Buddhist monk named Ven.  Amritananda Bhikkhu by the fundamentalist group on September 22, 2019 at 15h00 to 18h00.

The said Buddhist monk has been killed in Comilla district on 25 August 2019 while he was returning to Feni from Dhaka. However, police failed to arrest the culprits despite one month has passed after the incident took place.

The diaspora of all Bangladeshi France Buddhist communities strongly condemned for killing of an innocent Buddhist monk & have demanded to the Prime Minister of Sheikh Hasina and the Foreign Minister of the Government of Peoples’ Republic of Bangladesh to take a concrete action against those responsible culprits.

Bangladeshi France Buddhist communities are also concern about extra-judiciary killings of indigenous Jumma people in Chittagong Hill Tracts by the Bangladesh military and demanding to stop the gross human rights violations in CHT & in plane districts

Sridwip Barua, student leader, presided over the event while Shiblu Barua facilitated the human chain. Among others, Udayan Barua, president of Bangladesh Hindu Buddhist & Christian Unity Council (BHBCUC) in Europe; Swadesh Barua, president of the BHBCUC in France section; Editon Chakma, member-secretary of organising committee of the event; Bhikkhu Jyotisar; Shakya Mitra Chakma, president of the European Jumma Indigenous Council (EJIC); Devasish Chakma, general secretary of the EJIC; and Siddhartha Tanchangya, executive member of the EJIC, Chaihla Prue Marma at el spoke in the human chain.
