Grave land of indigenous Hindus occupied by Muslim land robbers in Tarash of Sirajgonj

Hill Voice, 23 July 2020, Sirajgonj correspondent:  Recently grave land of local indigenous communities at Khirpota village has been allegedly illegally occupied by a group of land robbers in Deshigram union of Tarasha upazila under Sirajgonj district.

On 9 July 2020 there has been submitted an application to the Upazila Nirbahi Officer (Executive officer) signed by Mr. Basudev Sarker, Secretary of Khirpota-Bhatar Para Grave Committee on behalf of the victims of indigenous Hindu community seeking eviction of the occupiers from the land of grave.

It has been mentioned in the application that “We have been using this cemetery and grave yard by generations. Some self-seeking land robbers of the village, such as (1) Md. Belal Hossein, s/o Md Azam Ali, (2) Md Ifsub Ali, s/o late Osman Ali, (3) Md Dobir Uddin, s/o late Jabed Ali, though they all have own houses, are constructing houses new by occupying illegally the grave and causing a loss to our grave.”

In the application, there has been demanded to take measure for protection of the grave by removing the houses constructed by illegal occupiers.
