Hill Voice, 19 September 2020, Rangamati: Nikolai Pangkho, a member of the Rangamati District Committee of the Parbatya Chattagram Jana Samhati Samiti (PCJSS), has been arrested by the army.
According to local sources, on 18 September 2020 at around 7:30 pm Nikolai Pangkho was held from his home in Bijan Sarani area of Rangamati town.
He was reportedly taken to Rangamati Army Zone after his arrest. At the time of writing this report, he has not been released or handed over to police.
He had fled to various places as the army’s crackdown on members of the PCJSS increased as part of the criminalization by the army. He returned to Bijan Sarni’s house on 17 September and was picked up by the army on 18 September.
Nikolai Pangkho’s family is reported to be concerned about his safety.
