Hill Voice, 15 October 2020, Bandarban: Former UP member Sauprue Marma (42) was shot dead by miscreants at Natun Para in Roangchhari upazila of Bandarban district.
The incident took place at Natun Para of Rowangchhari on 15 October 2020 Thursday, at around 8:00 pm.
According to local sources, Sauprue Marma used to work for Reformist group. Three shots were heard around 8 pm. At present there is panic in the minds of the people of the area.
Locals speculate that Reformist Saupru Marma was killed in a dispute with the UPDF (Democratic). It may be mentioned that UPDF (Democratic) has recently formed its Bandarban district committee in a residential hotel in Chittagong.
According to another villager, members of the Mog Party committed the incident. Recently, with the direct help and instigation of the army, the Mog Party armed group killed Bachamong Marma at Jamchari in Bandarban on October 10 and Basanta Tanchangya Durjoy at Karigarh Para in Kaptai on October 11.
Abdullah Al Mamun Jabed, executive officer of Rowangchhari upazila, said, “I will give details about who committed the incident after investigation.”
