PCJSS activist abducted by army-backed terrorists in Longadu

Hill Voice, 19 May 2022, Rangamati: It has been alleged that an activist of Parbattya Chattagram Jana Samhati Samiti (PCJSS) was abducted from No.4 Bogachatar Union area of ​​Longadu upazila under Rangamati Hill District by the Bangladesh Army backed Reformists and UPDF (Democratic) terrorists.

The incident took place today (19 May 2022) at around 9:00 pm.

The name of the abducted person is Binoy Prasad Chakma (55), son of late Bira Kumar Chakma, Village-Chiberega, No.8 Ward, Bogachatar Union. He is the Land and Law Affairs Secretary of Longadu Thana Branch of PCJSS and a Karbari (Village Head) of No.12 Gabachari Mouza of Longadu Upazila.

According to local sources, tonight at around 9:00 pm, an armed group of 8 members of Reformist and UPDF (Democratic) terrorists came to Binoy Prasad Chakma’s house in Chiberega village of Bogachatar Union on four motorcycles. A few guests including an engineer of Chittagong Hill Tracts Development Board were also present at his house at that time. As he was a Karbari (village head), these officials of the development board came to his house. The terrorists abducted Binoy Prasad Chakma at gunpoint from in front of the guests and other people in the house.

The terrorists while abducting Binoy Prasad Chakma snatched mobile phones and also other belongings of the engineer including other guests of development board.

As of this writing, it is unknown why Binoy Prasad Chakma was abducted and where he was taken.

Meanwhile, family members were reportedly in deep distress after the abduction.
