Hill Voice, May 22, 2020, Chittagong Hill Tracts: A total of 81 people have been infected with corona in three hill districts of Chittagong Hill Tracts (CHT) and only 23 have recovered. Of these, a total of 46 people have been infected in Rangamati Hill District and only 4 have recovered; In Khagrachhari Hill District a total of 18 people have been infected and only 10 have recovered and in Bandarban Hill District a total of 17 people have been affected and only 9 have recovered.
Till May 22, 2020, across the country, a total of 30,205 people have been identified in Corona, 432 have died and 6,190 have recovered. So far 2 lakh 23 thousand 841 samples have been tested.
Rangamati District: According to the Civil Surgeon’s Office in Rangamati, a total of 46 people have been infected with corona in the district till May 22 and only 4 have recovered.
Of these, in Rangamati district 4 people were infected on May 6, 1 person was infected on May 12, 9 people were infected on May 13, 11 people were infected on May 14, 1 person was infected on May 16, 17 people were infected on May 19 and the last 3 people were infected on May 22.
Among Rangamati districts, Rangamati Sadar upazila has the highest number of 32 people affected. Besides, 2 people have been affected in Kaukhali upazila, 1 in Rajasthali, 2 in Longadu upazila, 6 in Jurachhari upazila, 1 in Naniyarchar upazila and 2 in Bilaichhari upazila.
In the last 24 hours on May 19, 17 people have been infected with corona in Rangamati Sadar Upazila. Some areas affected by corona positive have been identified in Rangamati Sadar Upazila.
Among them, Reserve Bazar 1, Mollapara Sadar Hospital area 2, Debashish Nagar 1, Kalyanpur 1, Rajdwip area 1, Rajbari 1, Manikchhari 1, Dewan Para 1, Rangamati General Hospital area 5, North Kalindipur 3, Rangapani 1, Majherbasti 1, Magistrate Colony 1, Roy Bahadur Road 3 and Omdamia Hill of Tabalchhari 1.
Residents of Rangamati town claim that about 40 per cent of the victims are doctors, nurses and other employees of Rangamati General Hospital.
Khagrachhari District: In Mahalchhari upazila of Khagrachari district, 7 more people including 4 health workers were identified in the last 24 hours on May 20 and 5 Corona positives were identified on May 22. With this, the number of Corona positive in the district stood at 18 and 9 people have recovered. Besides, the sample report came negative in the body of 1 person in the third phase.
Among the Khagrachhari districts, 2 people were affected in Khagrachhari Sadar Upazila, 1 in Panchhari upazila, 3 in Dighinala Upazila, 1 in Matiranga, 1 in Ramgarh Upazila, 1 in Manikchhari and 9 in Mahalchhari Upazila.
With this, corona virus has spread in 5 upazilas of Khagrachhari district. However, it is known that the first corona victim returned home after recovery.
Bandarban District: In Bandarban district so far a total of 17 people have been infected and 9 people have recovered. Among the Bandarban district upazilas, Thanchi upazila was the first to detect two corona patients.
Among them, 2 people have been affected in Alikadam Upazila, 7 people in Lama Upazila, 4 people in Naikhyongchhari Upazila, 2 people in Thanchi Upazila and 2 people in Bandarban Sadar Upazila.
