Army takes away one Jumma in Jurachari

Hill Voice, 23 October 2020, Rangamati: Today Friday at around 3:00 pm a group of the army allegedly picked up a Jumma named Satyaban Chakma, son of Ramya Chakma from his house in Jurachari of Rangamati Hill District.
 
Satyaban Chakma’s house is said to be in Kusumchari village of ward 9 of Jurachhari Sadar union under Jurachhari upazila. It is learnt that he is working as the president of the local village committee of the Chittagong Hill Tracts Juba Samiti.
 
According to local sources, a group of army numbering 19 led by Warrant Officer Momin, commander of Jokka Bazar army camp under Banjogichara army zone of Jurachari went to Balukhali village on October 22, 2020. This afternoon, when the army reached Kusumchhari village on its way back to the camp, they took Satyaban Chakma from his house.
 
Till writing the report, Satyaban Chakma, who was taken away, has not been released and the reason for his capture by the army is not known.
