Hill Voice, 11 July 2021, Rangamati: It has been alleged that an innocent Jumma villager has been abducted from Raikhali Union area of Kaptai upazila under Rangamati Hill District by the army-backed Mog Party terrorists. The abduction took place in the same area a day after the shooting death of a 52-year-old Jumma villager day before yesterday (July 9, 2021).
According to local sources, on July 10, 2021, a group of Mog Party terrorists abducted an innocent Jumma villager named Paihuikui Aung Marma (50), son of late Huikui Aung Marma from Bhalukya Tinchhari Marma Para in Raikhali Union of Kaptai Upazila. According to some eyewitnesses, the abducted person was taken to Rajsthali Upazila Sadar.
It may be mentioned that the village called Bhalukya Tinchhari Marma Para from which Paihuikui Aung Marma was abducted in the same village the terrorists of the Mog Party killed an innocent villager named Aungthowaiching Marma on July 8, 2021.
Till writing this report it was unknown about the release of abducted Paihuikui Aung Marma and where he was kept. Paihuikui Aung Marma’s family is said to be deeply concerned after the abduction.
It is worth mentioning that according to local sources, on July 8, 2021 at around 7.00 am, a group of 20/22 members of the Mog Party led by Monkhyauching Marma abducted a Jumma named Aungthowaiching Marma (52) from his house in Gabachara Para village of Raikhali Union at the gun point and took him to nearby Bhalukya Marma Para. At one stage in the evening, Mog Party terrorists shot and killed Aungthowaiching Marma.
Later, at around 7.00 pm, a group of army personnel from the Rajasthali Army Camp recovered the body from the Mog Party and took it to the Rajasthali Army Camp. The army then handed over the body to Chandraghona police station under Kaptai upazila.
Meanwhile, shortly after the incident, the parbattanews.com known as the military-backed online newspaper reported that the incident was a shootout between the Mog Party and the JSS (Santu) group. Later, the incident was covered in the same way through also some online media including chttimes24.com.
The villagers said that the incident was the result of the army’s long-running incitement of the Mog Party to terrorist activities, including working against the JSS and pro-CHT Accord people.
