Hill Voice, 22 September 2020, Savar: A schoolgirl named Nila Roy (14) has been stabbed to death in Savar for refusing to love proposal. The incident took place on 20 September 2020 Sunday at around 9:00 pm at Girls School Road in Palpara Mahalla under Savar Model Police Station.
Nila Roy is a daughter of Narayan Roy of Balirtek area in Manikganj district. With her parents, she stayed at a rented house in Kazi Mokma Para in the municipal area and studied in grade 10th in a school called Assed School. The accused youth Mizanur Rahman Chowdhury is a resident of the same area.
According to the family, college student Mizan, son of Abdur Rahman of Bank Colony near Kazimukmapara, had been proposing love to Nila for a year and a half. Nila Roy was suffering from shortness of breath around 7:00 pm on Sunday. Her brother Alok Roy was taking her to the hospital in a rickshaw. After going some distance, Mizan stopped the rickshaw. He then dragged Nila at gunpoint and took her down from the rickshaw to Palpara area.
Mizan fled after stabbing Nila in the neck, abdomen, face and neck in an alley opposite Savar Girls’ High School. Hearing the girl’s scream, the people of the area rescued her and took her to the Prime Hospital on Thana Road. When her condition deteriorated there, she was taken to Savar Enam Medical College Hospital. Nila died while undergoing treatment there at around 9.30 pm.
Her father Narayan Roy filed a case to the Savar Police Station yesterday. Mizanur Rahman, his father Abdur Rahman and his mother Nazmun Nahar Siddhika have been accused in the case.
In this regard, Inspector (Investigation) of Savar Model Police Station Saiful Islam said that the investigation is underway to find out the real truth of the murder and the police are continuing operations in all possible places to arrest the accused.
