Hill Voice, 19 August 2022, Chittagong: Two organizations held a black flag march against Foreign Minister AK Abdul Momen in Chittagong for spreading false news of communal violence in the country.

This program was held under the banner of ‘Bikshubdha Sanatan Samaj’ and ‘Oikyabaddha Sanatan Samaj’ on the occasion of Foreign Minister’s arrival in Chittagong at Cheragi Pahar intersection of Chittagong city on Thursday (August 17) afternoon.

The Foreign Minister came to Chittagong on Thursday morning to participate in the Sanatan Dharma Mahasammelan organized by the Janmashtami Udjapan Parishad at JM Sen Hall in Rahmatganj of the city.

In the rally before the procession, General Secretary of Bangladesh Hindu Buddhist Christian Oikya Parishad Advocate Rana Dasgupta said, “The program of protesting lies against minority persecution will spread across the country. The foreign minister should apologize for his statement.”

Rana Dasgupta also said, “After the Durga Puja last autumn, the honorable Prime Minister announced zero tolerance against communal miscreants at a critical time of the situation. Mr. Obaidul Quader, the general secretary of the ruling party, said that ‘during elections, you go to the houses of minorities and call them mother, machi, father. But after the election, you are not seen to be on their side when they are in danger.’

Mr. Dasgupta also added that, ‘We noticed at that time that when Foreign Minister AK Momen went abroad, he dismissed the news of communal violence in this country as false propaganda. A month and half ago, he went to New Delhi, and during the talk with the Chairman of the National Security Council of India, Ajit Doval, he also said that the news that is spread about the persecution of minorities, these are all lies. There is no truth behind it.’

Rana Dasgupta expressed anger that the foreign minister mentioned that the 35,000 Durga Pujas in Bangladesh were sponsored by the government. But these are all pure lies and fabrications. We did not expect such lies from him. Since he has not yet apologized to us, has not apologized to the nation for his lies, so when he came to Chittagong, the people of Chittagong are protesting against him. The angry crowd is today protesting the arrival of the Foreign Minister with black flags.’

Rana Dasgupta said, “I have protested this propaganda and lies of the foreign minister in the past, and I am still protesting.”

President of Chittagong District Puja Celebration Parishad Shyamal Palit, General Secretary Ashok Deb, General Secretary of Chittagong Metropolitan Hindu Buddhist Christian Unity Parishad Advocate Nitai Prasad Ghosh, Advocate Rubel Pal, Hindu Mahazot Chittagong Convenor Advocate Jesus Rakshit and Kanchan Acharya were present in the rally.
