Hill Voice, 18 August 2019, Mymensingh: The hospital manager has been accused of trying to rape a Garo girl at a private hospital’s operation theater in Mymensingh. The accused Sohel Rana Alam has been absconding since the incident. Police have arrested the owner of the hospital Mujibur Rahman.
Police said Padma General Hospital authority in Brahmapalli area on Sunday (August 18) called five Garo women for job recruitment. At one point, Sohel Rana offered to show the operation Theater room to one of them while talking. The moment they got inside the OT room, he attempted to rape that woman. Later, the classmates went upstairs and rescued the girl. When everyone got to know about the incident, locals surrounded the hospital immediately.
Police said the preliminary investigation confirmed the incident. Acting Officer (OC) of MymensinghKotwali Model Police Station Mahmudul Islam said, an initial investigation found the allegations to be true. Necessary steps are being taken.
