A Jumma villager abducted by Mog Party terrorists in Bangalhalia

Hill Voice, 18 November 2022, Rangamati: An innocent Jumma villager has been allegedly abducted by Army-backed Mog Party terrorists from Bangalhalia Bazar in Bangalhalia Union of Rajasthali Upazila under Rangamati District. However, a day after the abduction, the abductors reportedly released the villager for a ransom of Taka 5 lakh.

The kidnapped victim was identified as Mongchingsa Marma (50), son of late Mongpuhla Marma, Village-Narangiri Bara Para, No.9 Ward, No.2 Raikhali Union, Kaptai Upazila.

According to local sources, on 16 November 2022, towards morning, Mongchingsa Marma went to Bangalhalia bazaar from his house to market. At around 11:00 AM, while Mongchingsa Marma was in the market, a group of Mog Party terrorists came there and kidnapped Mongchingsa Marma.

Later, when the family members contacted the kidnappers, after much negotiation, the kidnappers released the abducted Monchingsa Marma for Taka 5 lakh.

It is to be noted that the army deployed MNP armed terrorists, known as Mog Party, formed under the leadership of foreign armed group ALP, at Powaitu Para of Gaindya Union of Rajasthali Upazila, and engaged them in conducting terrorist activities like killing and extortion, kidnapping and collection of ransom from innocent people along with the members of PCJSS and supporters of CHT Accord in Rajasthali and Kaptai of Rangamati district and Bandarban Sadar and Rowangchari upazilas of Bandarban district.

One of the incidents of providing shelter to the Mog Party by the army and the ruling party was the arrangement of overnight staying of armed members of the Mog Party at Ujani Para Government Primary School in Bandarban town on 18 September 2022. The incident caused extreme panic and strong reactions in the area.
