According to local sources, Sunday at around 10:30 pm, two army vehicles (pickups) and a white microbus entered the Rowangchhari Upazila Sadar. According to eyewitnesses, the white microbus was carrying an armed group led by Ubamong alias Ubathowai Marma, General Secretary of the Bandarban district committee of the Reformist group.

Meanwhile, members of the army and Reformist terrorist group picked up U Thowai Aoi Marma from Natunpara village in Rowangchhari Sadar area and Sahlaching Marma from Aungjai Para village. Among them Sahlaching Marma was later released. But after detaining U Thowai Aoi Marma, the army and Reformist terrorist members proceeded towards the Bandarban district headquarters.

It is to be mentioned that today, on 28 September 2020, the daily Purbakone mysteriously mentioned that ‘terrorists kidnapped and took away’. Several villagers, who did not want to be named, said, “The news published in Purbakone is completely false and fabricated. The army and the Reformists have spread this false news to cover up their misdeeds.”
