Hill Voice, 17 November 2022, Rangamati: It has been reported that an activist of Parbatya Chattagram Jana Samhati (PCJSS) has been detained by the army from Raikhali Union area of Kaptai Upazila under Rangamati district.
The arrested victim is Ranjit Kumar Tanchangya (50), son of late Chitta Kumar Tanchangya, Village-Choto Sakua Para, No.7 Ward, No.2 Raikhali Union Parishad. Ranjit Kumar Tanchangya is a businessman by profession, a former Union Parishad member and the Land and Agriculture Affairs Secretary of the Kaptai upazila branch of the PCJSS.
According to local sources, today 17 November 2022, at around 1:30 am, a group of army led by Warrant Officer Md. Quddus of Panchari Army Camp of Raikhali Union under Kaptai Army Zone arrested Ranjit Kumar Tanchangya while he was sleeping in a house in Lambachara village.
It is not known where Ranjit Kumar Tanchangya was kept for the entire day after his arrest.
However, till the writing of this report, at around 8:00 pm, a source has informed that he has been detained at Chandraghona police station.
