Hill Voice, 8 October 2019, Jhalakathi:  On 8 October 2019 a Hindu family was allegedly attacked and Tk 7.10 lakh from them were snatched away by a UP Chairman and his gang in Jhalakathi of Bangladesh.

It is learnt that on that day Prince Mondal, convener of Jhalakathi district Hindu-Buddhist-Christian Chhatra Jubo Front, along with his son, went to Jhalakathi to book a land. At that time, a group of miscreants led by Sukkur Molla, Chairman of Kirtipasha Union Parishad as well as member of Jhalakathi District Awami League and his son Rebel Molla known as a drug addict, attacked them with lethal weapons and took away Tk 7.10 lakh from them. Even while the culprits were leaving the spot they threatened Prince Mondal and his son to leave the country immediately if they wanted to save their life. It is also learnt that Prince Mondal put a complaint to the Jhalakati Police Station in this regards, but police did not accept it.
