Mysterious activities of army and terrorists in Jibtoli:

Recently, local sources reported that a mysterious movement was noticed between the local army and their supported UPDF (Democratic) terrorists in Jibtoli Union of Rangamati Sadar Upazila. It has also caused concern among the locals.

It has been reported that since September 1, 2022, the UPDF (Democratic) terrorists who have been staying at Chairman Para of Jibtoli Union have increased their manpower under the leadership of Barun Karbari and are staying with 40/45 members.

According to a reliable source, on September 2, 2022, around 9:00 am, a group of army from Jibtoli army camp came to the base camp (hideout) of terrorists in Chairman Para. Then around 10:00 AM, the army took all the members of the terrorist group to the Jibtoli army camp by escorting them.

A secret meeting was then held between the Army and the UPDF (Democratic) terrorists at the Jibtoli army camp for almost a day. However, it is not known what was discussed in the meeting. Later, around 5:00 pm, the army escorted the UPDF (democratic) terrorists to their hideout.

The source also said that since that day almost regular army personnel took a speedboat to the terrorist hideout in Chairman Para and then a group of 25/30 terrorist personnel went to an undisclosed location. However, it is not known where and why the army personnel took the terrorist group.

It is to be noted that the army, the defense intelligence agency DGFI, the ruling Awami League and the administration have been providing shelter and support to armed terrorist groups, such as, Reformist JSS, Prasit-led by UPDF, UPDF (Democratic), MNP known as Mog Party, Kuki-Chin National Front known as Bawm Party, Shamim Mahfuz-led Jamaat Arakan, RSO, ARSA etc.aiming at obstructing the process of implementation of the Chittagong Hill Tracts (CHT) Accord signed in 1997, destroying the leadership of the Parbatya Chattagram Jana Samhati Samiti, which is continuing movement for the implementation of the Accord, and above all, diverting the CHT situation – which was arosen as a result of adopting dictatorial policies of solving the CHT problem through military mean by the present government instead of solving the problem through political and peaceful means by implementing the CHT Accord – to different direction.
