Hill Voice, October 22, 2025, Special Reporter: Suhas Chakma (whose Bangladeshi name is Bodhimitra Chakma) has expressed his joy in a status on his Facebook wall that the Gauhati High Court in its 69-page verdict dated 05/09/2024 has referred to the Parbatya Chattagram Jana Samhati Samiti (PCJSS) (main party), led by Santu Larma, as a ‘terrorist party’.

Suhas Chakma’s claim that the Gauhati High Court’s verdict on the PCJSS led by Santu Larma is a ‘terrorist party’ is completely baseless, fabricated and distorted. In fact, the people arrested in the 2013 case in the Lengpui area of Mizoram with huge arms, namely Moni Tripura, Rabi Chakma and Sabuj Chakma, are not members of the PCJSS main party or the PCJSS led by Santu Larma. Two of them are members of the PCJSS (MN Larma) party, which is known as a Reformist group, and another one is member of the UPDF party.

For example, Moni Tripura, whose real name is Uday Kiran Tripura, is a central member of the Reformist PCJSS. Rabi Chakma, whose real name is Rupentu Chakma (Mahalchari, Khagrachari), is a senior member of the UDPF and an arms collector. And Sabuj Chakma’s real name is Anshuman Chakma, he is the central general secretary of the Reformist PCJSS. At that time, the Reformist PCJSS and the UPDF had a close relationship. They were both collecting those huge arms. Therefore, the allegations of the involvement of the main party or Santu Larma-led PCJSS in the arms shipment are completely baseless and fabricated. Suhas Chakma is distorting information about the Reformist PCJSS and falsely claiming that it is the PCJSS led by Santu Larma.

Besides, Suhas Chakma has made another one-sided statement, which is to describe PCJSS as a ‘terrorist group’ in the High Court verdict. In fact, in the High Court verdict, PCJSS has been described as the ‘insurgent outfit’ many times rather than the ‘terrorist group’. However, the distorter and liar Suhas Chakma has completely concealed this issue. Even in the said High Court verdict, it has been said about the said PCJSS ‘a faction of Shanti Bahini Organization formed for upliftment of Chakma people in Bangladesh’ (See page 3). The litigious and corrupt Suhas Chakma has concealed that great goal and objective of the PCJSS by pretending not to see it.

Before the signing of the Chittagong Hill Tracts Accord in 1997, Suhas Chakma studied in Delhi with the funding of PCJSS. But after completing study, he gradually started cheating with PCJSS. Later, he tied up with UPDF and now he is engaged in false and fabricated propaganda against PCJSS for political vested interest.

Suhas Chakma is using the statements made about the Reformist PCJSS in the Gauhati High Court verdict against Santu Larma’s PCJSS for political interest. At the same time, Suhas Chakma has made false, baseless and fabricated allegations involving the main party PCJSS in drug smuggling, even though the case is not related to drugs.

In order to achieve political vested interest, Suhas Chakma claimed that PCJSS was involved in the drug smuggling incident worth 10 crore taka seized by Assam Rifles on June 19, 2025, which was completely baseless and fabricated. Dozens of newspapers published news about this drug seizure. Except for the Northeast News portal, no other newspaper/newsportal mentioned that PCJSS was involved in the drug smuggling incident.

It is needless to say that Northeast News has either unknowingly joined the political propaganda game of Suhas Chakma or has become a beneficiary of the said propaganda. Besides, the investigation of various intelligence agencies including the Mizoram police has not found the truth of the involvement of PCJSS. However, Suhas Chakma is continuing the fabricated and fabricated propaganda by saying that the three Chakmas arrested in the drug case are associates of PCJSS.

Thus, Suhas Chakma has been continuously lying about the Gauhati High Court verdict regarding PCJSS and its involvement in the drug case. It can be considered extremely shameful and immoral for Suhas Chakma, who claims to be a human rights activist, to indulge in such false and baseless propaganda.
