Hill Voice, 28 October 2025, Bandarban: Today, October 28, 2025, at 8 am, a human chain and protest rally was organized at the initiative of the Alikadam Buddhist Community in Shilbunia Para, Alikadam Upazila under Bandarban District, to protect the land in Maraingtang and to protest the conspiracy by the Lama Upazila Administration.

More than a hundred people, including Buddhist devotees, local social activists, and students from various educational institutions of the upazila, participated in the human chain and protest rally.

Speakers at the human chain said that Maraingtong is a traditional place of the local people, carrying deep cultural and spiritual significance for the Buddhist and Jumma communities of the area. However, in recent times, some dishonest individuals have been attempting to illegally occupy the land.

The speakers further stated that the Lama Upazila administration is carrying out a conspiracy regarding the land of Maraingtong Jadi. Such actions pose a serious threat to religious harmony and the peaceful coexistence of communities in the future.

After the human chain, a protest rally was brought out.

The rally marched along the main road of Alikadam’s Shilbunia Para and concluded at the entrance of the Marma Para road.
