Two persons kidnapped by army-backed Mog Party terrorists in Kaptai and released in exchange of ransom

Hill Voice, 16 December 2021, Rangamati: An army-backed Mog Party terrorists has been accused of abducting two innocent people and releasing them in lieu of ransom in Ward No. 9 of Raikhali Union under Kaptai Upazila in Rangamati district.

The abductees are: Chonumong Marma (40), son of late Choshe Aung Marma, of Narangiri Bara Para, and Mirango Tanchangya (42), son of late Gopal Tanchangya, of Gabachhara Para, both under Ward No. 9, Raikhali Union, Chandraghona police station, Kaptai Upazila.

According to local sources, on December 14 (Tuesday) at 12:30 pm during the weekly market in Bangalhaliya Bazaar, two victims were attacked and abducted by the Marma Liberation Party (Mog Party) led by Second in Command Monkya Ching Marma and 4/5 more terrorists including Mongsinu Marma. Chunumang Marma was later released at 4pm on the same day in exchange for three lakh and fifty thousand taka.

On the other hand, Miranga Tanchangya was similarly released on 15 December (Wednesday) the next day in exchange for a ransom of taka 60,000 .

Note that the two abductees have been brutally beaten.
