Solidarity gathering and mass procession tomorrow to demand implementation of CHT Accord in Rangpur

Hill Voice, 19 March 2023, Rangpur: Tomorrow (20 March 2023) divisional solidarity gathering and mass procession will be organized in Rangpur demanding the implementation of the Chittagong Hill Tracts (CHT) Accord and calling for a collective greater movement to implement the Accord. It has been called to join the program in groups.

Today 19 March 2023 CHT Accord Implementation Movement’s Publicity Department has informed about this program in a press release signed by Muhammad Habib. It has been mentioned that this solidarity gathering and mass rally will be held tomorrow at 2:30 PM in the premises of Shaheed Minar in Rangpur.

The Joint coordinators of CHT Accord Implementation Movement, human rights and social movement activist Zakir Hossain and Dhaka University teacher Dr. Khairul Islam Chowdhury has called upon all conscious citizens, regardless of party affiliation, to participate in the program to make active solidarity for demanding the implementation of the CHT Accord and for the success of the program.

The statement said that tomorrow’s mass procession and solidarity gathering will be inaugurated by senior politician Md. Afzal and presided over by Professor Mozahar Ali. General Secretary of Bangladesh Samajtantrik Dal Bajlul Rashid Feroze, General Secretary of Bangladesh JSD and former MP Nazmul Haque Pradhan, Member of the Presidium of Communist Party of Bangladesh Shaheen Rahman, Politburo Member of Bangladesh Workers Party Principal Nazrul Islam Haqqani, President of National Adivasi Parishad Rabindranath Saren, professor of Dhaka University Zobaida Nasreen, ALRD Executive Director Shamsul Huda and others will give solidarity speech. Leaders of various progressive political organizations of the country, intellectuals, student leaders and students will also be present.

The two coordinators of the CHT Accord Implementation Movement have made a special request to all progressive and democratic political parties, intellectuals, cultural personalities and conscious civil society of Rangpur for active participation in the solidarity gathering and mass procession program.
