Reformist Sudarshan Chakma occupies land of 14 Tripura villagers with the help of army

Hill Voice, 28 November 2020, Rangamati: Sudarshan Chakma, a terrorist of Reformist group and chairman of Baghaichhari Upazila Parishad, has been accused of occupying the lands of 14 Tripura villagers in Ruilui area of ​​Sajek Union in Baghaichhari upazila of Rangamati district.

According to local sources, Sudarshan Chakma had bought 1.0 acres of land in Ruilui village of Ruilui union a long time ago. But now he is claiming ownership of about 5.0 acres of land belonging to 14 Tripura villagers.

Sudarshan Chakma and the army allege that the villagers of Tripura spoil the environment and beauty of Machanghar or tourism. Therefore, the 14 Tripura villagers are being prevented from building or repairing houses. It is learned that pressure is being exerted on the villagers with the connivance of the Commanding Officer (CO) of Baghaihat Zone.

Sudarshan Chakma and the army allege that the machanghar (traditional high house made of bamboo) of indigenous Tripura villagers destroys the environment and beauty of the tourism. Therefore, the 14 Tripura villagers are being prevented from constructing or repairing houses. It is learnt that pressure is being exerted on the villagers with the connivance of the Commanding Officer (CO) of Baghaihat Army Zone.

The victims of 14 Tripura villagers of Ruilui village are – Moni Tripura, Ward Khisa Tripura, Rabi Kumar Tripura (former Member), Hridoy Master (Tripura), Biju Master (Tripura), Purna Ranjan Tripura, Pulen Sen Tripura, Tupinjoy Tripura, Moti Ranjan Tripura, Dalen Tripura, Sudarshan Tripura, Sagar Tripura, Raj Hala Karbari (Tripura) and Manasa Tripura.

At present these innocent villagers are in extreme panic and uncertainty for fear of eviction.
