At that time the terrorists beat Ranjit Chakma without any reason. The terrorists kicked Ranjit Chakma and tied him up for several hours.

The group of Reformist and UPDF (Democratic) members led by Bidhu Chakma are staying at the house of Ratan Tanchangya at Baghmara bazar after bringing them to Baghmara in Rajvila Union of Bandarban Sadar Upazila from Khagrachhari district by providing escort by army on 31 May 2020.

Ratan Tanchanga’s house is just 200 yards away from the Baghmara army camp. Despite this, there has been extreme concern in the minds of the people about how the Reformist armed members can openly stay there with arms.

Since then, the Reformist and UPDF (Democratic) terrorists have openly been roaming in Baghmara Bazar, Jamchhari, Uji Para, Galachipa, Kulukshyong, Nachalang, Jogesh Chandra Karbari Para areas in Bandarban Sadar Upazila’s Sadar Union and Rajvila Union and Rowangchhari Upazila’s Noapatong Union and Alekshyang Union with weapons and have been harassing, threatening, demanding extortion from villagers of the areas.

Innocent villagers in the area are said to be in a state of panic as the number of armed terrorists backed by the army and intelligence has increased.

The people of the area have complained that the administration is not taking any action against the terrorists even though they have openly demanded arms, harassment and extortion.
