A Jumma youth shot dead by the army in Naniarchar

Hill Voice, 3 December 2020, Rangamati: It has been alleged that a Jumma youth named Nayan Chakma (38) was shot dead by the Bangladesh Army in Sabekshang Union area of ​​Naniyarchar upazila under Rangamati Hill District. The deceased is a son of Kandara Chakma from Bajechhara village of Sabekshang union.

According to local sources, the victim was standing on the side of Rangamati-Khagrachhari road at 12:30 pm on December 3, 2020 at a place called Nineteen Miles in Puratan Betchhari of Ward No. 8 of Sabekshang Union.

At that time, a group of members of the Upper Kengelchhari Army Camp under Naniarchar Army Zone was coming that way with three autorickshaws. At that time, the army shot Nayan Chakma as soon as they saw him. Nayan Chakma died on the spot.

It is learnt that the body of Nayan Chakma was handed over to his family after postmortem. The incident has caused panic in the area.
