Hill Voice, 5 October 2020, Dhaka: Hubert Gomez, one of the presidents of Bangladesh Hindu Buddhist Christian Unity Council (BHBCUC), passed away today 5 October 2020 Monday at 1.19 pm, at Impulse Hospital of Tejgaon in Dhaka.
He had been undergoing treatment at the hospital since 27 September after contracting coronavirus. He was 86 years old at the time of his death. He is survived by a number of relatives and admirers, including a son and a daughter.
During his lifetime, Mr. Gomez served as an advisor to the Bangladesh Christian Association and president of the Christian Co-operative Credit Union Limited. His body will be laid to rest tomorrow at 3.00 pm at the Holy Rosary Church Cemetery in Tejgaon, Dhaka.
Former MP Ushatan Talukder, one of the presidents of Bangladesh Hindu Buddhist Christian Oikya Parishad (BHBCUC), expressed deep grief over Gomez’s death in a condolence message.
BUBCUC will organize a program of prayers for the peace and well-being of the departed souls of deceased in all religious places of worship including monasteries, temples, churches and pagodas on 9 October 2020 Friday at 7.00 pm.
