Hill Voice, 19 September 2022, Bandarban: It has been alleged that the Bangladesh army is setting up another fresh army camp next to the village of Neo-Muslim Tripura village at a place called Tulachari in Alekshyong union of Rowangchari upazila under Bandarban hill district.
A brick-build mosque is also reportedly being built nearby the new camp.
It is said that, having started the construction of the fresh camp, the local Jummas of various villages around the camp are often made fetch raw materials- trees, bamboos and essential items for it without any pay.
The distance of Tulachari area from the neighboring Luiline army camp is about three and a half miles.
It is to be noted that on June 26, 2022, a group of about 40 army personnel from Matiranga Army Zone of Khagrachari District went to Jal Kumar Karbari Para of Abbya Mouza in Ward No. 7 of Matiranga Sadar Union and took initiative to re-set up an army camp at the place of an abandoned camp.
On July 21, 2022, there was another allegation of resetting up an army camp in Jaisen Para of Ward No.4 of Maischari Union of Lemuchhari Mouja in Mahalachari Upazila of Khagrachari. On July 5, 2022, after the burning of 37 Jumma houses in Jaisen Para village by the Muslim settlers, the army camp was set up on the order of Md Tahsin, commander of the Bijitala army sub-zone.
