3 innocent Jummas beaten by army in Kaptai

Hill Voice, 1 April 2021, Rangamati: It has been alleged that 3 innocent Jumma villagers were brutally beaten by the Bangladesh Army in Narangiri Mukh Para area of ​​Raikhali Union in Kaptai Upazila under Rangamati Hill District.

According to local sources, a group of army personnel led by Subedar Md. Nazmul, Commander of the newly established Narangiri Mukh Para Army Camp under the 23rd E Bengal Regiment of the Army in the Kaptai Army Zone, carried out the beating in the name of finding terrorists on April 1, 2021 at around 1:00 pm. It is learnt that Lt. Col. Md. Mizanul Haque (PSC) is the Zone Commander of 23rd E Bengal Regiment of Kaptai Army Zone.

The three innocent victims were- (1) Thuimong Marma Jafar (34), son of Khorshed Khan Marma, Village-Duluchari, Raikhali Union; (2) Uchya Marma (28), son of Kehla Marma, Village-do and (3) Usathowai Marma (52), son of late Kahlau Marma, Village-Duluchari Noa Para. All three of them are known to be day laborers by profession.
