Hill voice, 22 March 2025, Rangamati: It has been reported that two innocent Jumma villagers were detained by Bangladesh army from Ghilachari area of Jurachari union of Jurachari upazila under Rangamati hill district.
The detained villagers are 1. Nirob Chakma (20), son of Bayon Chakma, village- Baherachari, No.1 Ward, Banjogichara union and 2. Indu Chakma (28), son of Shishu Moni Chakma, village- Shalbagan, No.6 Ward, Jurachari union. Both of them are Jum cultivator and labour.
According to local sources, today (22 March 2025), at 5 am, a group of army personnel led by commander Muslim of Shilchari Army Camp under Banjogichara Army Zone of the upazila have detained the two villagers from Ghilatuli Para of Jurachari union.
Till writing the report, the two villagers have been kept confined at Shilchari Army Camp. It is learnt that the leaders of the village approached to the army camy to free the villagers.
It is learnt the detained villagers were released at 12 noon.
