Hill Voice, 8 January 2025, Panchari: An allegation has been received that two villagers were kidnapped at gunpoint by UPDF armed terrorists from Dhudukchara under Panchari upazila of Khagrachari district.

The kidnapping incident took place today, Wednesday (8 January) at 7.30 am.

The two villagers who were kidnapped are identified as Nayanjyoti Chakma (43), s/o Krishna Mohan Chakma, village- Uttar Dhudukchhara and Sagar Chakma (45), s/o Jiban Krishna Chakma, village- South Dhudukchhara.

According to local sources, at 7:30 this morning, a group of 20-30 UPDF armed terrorists led by Nicholas Chakma, Pabitra Chakma, Sujoy Chakma, Ravi Chakma, and Apan Chakma entered Dudukchhara village, tied the two villagers’ hands and feet at gunpoint, and abducted them from their homes. In addition, they forcibly snatched mobile phones from 20/30 villagers and threatened them.

A source said that the kidnapped villagers have been kept in the UPDF hideout in Dhudukchara Bharatbarsha Para.

It is worth noting that on December 14, 2024, a group of anti-Accord UPDF terrorists suddenly attacked a Chakma wedding ceremony held in Hatimara area of Logan Union of Panchari Upazila under Khagrachari district, abducting 3 innocent Jummas, brutally beating 6-7 people and snatching the mobile phones of 50-60 people.
