Hill Voice, February 2, 2024, Sirajganj: The location of Tarashe brutal murder of a leader of Hindu Buddhist Christan Oikyo Parisad including his family members was visited by leaders of Hindu Buddhist Christian Oikya Parishad and Bangladesh Puja Udjapan Parishad.
The joint delegation consisted of Milan Kanti Dutta, Manindra Kumar Nath, Biplab Dey and Sagar Haldar of the Parishads visited the scene, today on 31 January 2024 at noon, where Oikyo Parishad leader Bikash Sarkar along with 3 members of his family were savagely killed. A press release signed by Mihir Ranjan Howlader, Office Secretary of Oikyo Parisad, said it.
Visiting victims’ relatives, the team members expressed their condolences and inquired the details of the incident. Later, they visited local OC Shahidul Islam and Sirajganj Police Superintendent Arifur Rahman Mondal and demanded a fair investigation and trial of the killing.
During the meeting, the Superintendent of Police told the delegation that the main suspect of the killing, Rajib, the nephew of murdered Bikash Sarkar, was already arrested. The delegation asked him to look into the incident thoroughly so that the real culprits not scape.
On the visit, General Secretary of District Oikya Parishad Rotarian Naresh Chandra Bhowmick, Dilip Gaur, Sunil Dey, Sujan Dey, Manik Das, Chani Das, Utpal Saha and Saurav Ghosh Pinu were also present with the delegation.
