The army patrol team was stationed in Thingdalte Para of No.2 Ward of No. 3 Remakri Prangsa Union of Ruma Upazila. Later from there the army left for Saloupi Para of No.4 Ward. On the way, three army personnel named Soldier Md. Tuzam Hossain (30), Lance Corporal Md. Taiyab and Warrant Officer Aminul Islam were seriously injured in the explosion of a mine planted by KNF. It has been reported that two legs were severed from the body of soldier Tuzam as a result of the mine explosion.

It is to be noted that in the last one week, 2 people were killed and 3 people were seriously injured in a mine explosion buried by terrorists of KNF, known as Bawm Party created by the army. It is alleged that on May 17, 2023, a Jumma named Jewel Tripura was killed and another Jumma named Abraham Tripura was seriously injured while working as a laborer during an army operation.
Also, in these operations, the army have been taking the common Jumma villagers indiscriminately as porters and using them as human shields in the gunfights. So far, more than 100 Jummas have been taken by the army as porters.
In this way, the KNF formed with the help of the army with a view to using it against the implementation of the CHT Accord as well as the Jumma people’s movement for right to self-determination has become a boomerang for the army and the government of Bangladesh.
