Hill Voice, 6 May 2023, Chittagong: Speaking at the Bangladesh Hindu Buddhist Christian Oikya Parishad’s Chittagong divisional representative meeting, the central general secretary of the organization, Advocate Rana Dasgupta, strongly demanded the government to implement the minority interest-friendly election promises by next October. He said, otherwise religious-ethnic minorities will be compelled to think anew before the next parliamentary elections.
Advocate Rana Dasgupta said these things while addressing the divisional representative meeting held today (6 May 2023) at 10 am at the Bangladesh Hindu Foundation auditorium in Chittagong.
In this representative meeting presided over by Engineer Parimal Kanti Chowdhury, a total of 13 district presidents and general secretaries of Chittagong Division were present and spoke. Among them were – Advocate Nitai Prasad Ghosh (Chittagong Metropolitan), Advocate Pradeep Chowdhury (Chittagong South), Indu Nandan Dutta (Chittagong North), Advocate Binay Bhushan Majumdar and Advocate Ranjit Roy Chowdhury (Chandpur), Shankar Majumder and Advocate Milan Mondal (Laxmipur). ), Chandan Kumar Roy and Principal Tapas Kumar Bakshi (Comilla), Freedom Fighters Binay Kishore Roy and Advocate Pappu Saha (Noakhali), Shukdev Nath Tapan and Liton Saha (Feni), Freedom Fighters Dilip Kumar Nag and Pradyut Kumar Nag (Brahmanbaria), Anil Dash and Mong Nei Cheng (Bandarban), Advocate Dipankar Bara and Professor Priyatosh Sharma (Cox’s Bazar), Deepen Kumar Ghosh and Palash Kusum Chakma (Rangamati), Biplab Kumar Sheel (Khagrachari) and others. Among the central leaders spoke – Presidium Member Advocate Priya Ranjan Dutta, Organizing Secretary Uttam Chakraborty and Shyamal Kumar Palit, Member of secretaries Subhradev Kar, Sharat Jyoti Chakma, Uttam Kumar Sharma, Gautam Majumdar, Subir Dutta.
The program of the representative meeting started with the national anthem followed by the hoisting of the national flag and then the flag of the organization.
Advocate Rana Dasgupta gave details of the meeting with General Secretary of the Ruling Party Obaidul Quader and Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina at one stage of the human rights movement aimed at the implementation of the government’s election promises and said, ‘We want to put our last trust on the Prime Minister.’ He hoped to take steps to implement her election promises soon. He urged all democratic political parties not to neglect, avoid and ignore the religious-ethnic minority voters.
Milan Kanti Dutta, member of the central presidium, in his speech laid emphasis on building a strong movement along with discussions to realize the demands.
Central Joint General Secretary Manindra Kumar Nath said, we will not return home until the target is achieved.
In the meeting, deep anger was expressed over the recent killing of schoolgirl Mukti Rani Burman in Netrakona and strong demands were made to ensure the punishment of the person responsible for this incident.
