Hill Voice, 8 March 2023, Khagrachari: It has been reported that a person has been detained by putting an arm by the army from Jarulchari area of Ward No. 6 of Babuchara Union of Dighinala Upazila of Khagrachari.
Yesterday, Monday (March 06, 2023) at 2.30 am, the arrest took place. The arrested victim was identified as Prem Ranjan Chakma (52), son of Rebati Ranjan Chakma of Jaruchhari Headman Para.
Last Monday night, Prem Ranjan Chakma, who was arrested, participated in the religious Kirtan program organized on the occasion of the funeral ceremony (religious ceremony) of a deceased person of the village. At 2:30 am, a group of army personnel from Dighinala army zone and Babuchara sub-zone arushed to the Kirtan ceremony and took him to his home after detaining.
Earlier, the soldiers kept a gun on the bed in his daughter-in-law’s room at his home. Army personnel pretended to search Prem Ranjan’s house and recover the weapon from his house. Later, the soldiers took him to Dighinala army zone, taking pictures with the weapons.
