Hill Voice, 15 February 2022, Bandarban: It has been alleged that two innocent Jummas have been arrested by the army from the bazaar area of Rowangchari upazila of Bandarban district.
The detainees were identified as Mongyoiching Marma (30), a resident of Rowangchhari Bazar Sadar area and Chaisoiprue Marma (55), a resident of Rajvila Union and president of Rajvila Union Committee of Parbatya Chattagram Jana Samhati Samiti (PCJSS).
According to local sources, on Monday (February 14) at 10:00 am, Mongyoiching Marma, resident of Rowangchari Bazar Sadar area, went to the shop in front of his house for marketing. At that time, he was forcefully picked up in filmy style by the army and taken to the Rowangchari army camp.
After the incident, the family members along with the elders went to the camp to meet Mongyoiching Marma, but the army did not allow them to do so. Later at 3:00 pm he was sent to Bandarban cantonment. According to the latest information, he has been kept in Bandarban cantonment. The family was not informed for what cause Mongyoiching Marma was arrested.
On the other hand, at around 3:00 pm, while returning home in a vehicle after appearing in court in the false case, while the vehicle reached the check post of Dulupara army camp and Chaisoiprue Marma was apprehended by the army personnel at the check post. He has so far been reportedly detained at the Dulupara army camp.
It is to be noted that though Chaisoiprue Marma is the president of the Rajvilla Union branch of the PCJSS but has been inactive for a long time.
