Hill Voice, 23 September 2019, Monday, Khagrachari: Today, a dead body was rescued by the police from a bush in the3-mile area of Khagrachari-Dighinala road in Khagrachari hill district. The dead body was identified as Priti Rani Tripura (28) wife of Hari Shankar Tripura from Champaghat village under Khagrachhari Sadar Upazila.
According to local sources, Priti Rani Tripura was missing from 16 September. Hari Shankar Tripura made a general diary at Khagrachari Sadar Police Station in connection with the disappearance of his wife on 20 September 2019.
After recovering dead body of Priti Tripura, the victim’s husband lodged a case with the Khagrachari Sadar Police Station on 23 September. The case no is 11. Mohammad Rashid, Officer-in-Charge of Khagrachari Police Station confirmed about the incident.
It is learnt that police arrested three Bengal settlers, namely, Asadul Islam Rasel (22), s/o Bahar Mian of Colony Para in Panchari; Al-Amin (19), s/o Tara Mian of Santal Para of Panchari and Kamal Hussain (23), s/o Abdul Barek of Domdom area of Panchari upazila in Khagrachari district. It is suspected that they killed Priti Rani after rape.
Police arrested them following list pf phone calls of Priti Rani Tripura. The court of Senior Judicial Magistrate Morshedul Alam granted 2-day remand of alleged perpetrators.
