Elections tomorrow, UPDF (Prasit) armed terrorists still not release kidnapped Himel Chakma

Hill Voice, 11 February 2026, Special Correspondent: Even though it has been 5 days since the kidnapping, armed terrorists of the UPDF (Prasit) have not yet released Himel Chakma Jubakke (55), an ordinary villager from Machyachara under Logang Union of Panchari Upazila under Khagrachari District.

According to local sources, armed terrorists of UPDF had been pressuring and threatening the villagers of Machyachara to vote for horse symbol candidate Dharmajyoti Chakma in the upcoming national parliamentary elections. In particular, they were pressuring the family of Himel Chakma. At one point, armed members of UPDF abducted Himel Chakma.

It is learnt that the day after the kidnapping, on February 8, the former chairman and current chairman of Logang Union, Joy Kumar Chakma, was called by the UPDF. But the UPDF leaders and cadres completely denied the kidnapping of Himel Chakma.

It is known that the UPDF (Prasit) armed terrorist group tried to cover up the matter even after revealing all the details by two local representatives about who were in the group during the kidnapping.

It is worth mentioning that Himel Chakma was abducted from his house in Machyachara Para of Logang Union at 9 pm last Saturday (February 7) by the commanders of the UPDF (Prasit) armed terrorist group, Aisukh, Nicholas and Koen. The abducted Himel Chakma was taken to Hedarachara by the UPDF terrorists. However, even after 5 days of the abduction, there is no information about where and how he was kept.

According to the villagers, the UPDF (Prasit) group committed this heinous act of kidnapping to force the villagers to vote with the horse symbol in the upcoming 13th National Parliamentary elections and to create panic and fear among them.
